Nancy PatelNancy (Nayana) Patel, CHO, emigrated from London, England when she was 11 years old with her family and moved to Marshall, Texas. At an early age of 14, she was working for her parents' hotels, where she gained hands-on experience. Nancy attended Marshall High School and graduated with distinction. She then completed a degree in Business Management & MIS from Kilgore College in Kilgore, Texas.

She is a licensed broker with Fickling & Company, which serves many states across the United States. She has been trained in hotel operations and management with Best Western, Choice Hotels International and Wyndham. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for AAHOA, LPS of Georgia and the LPS of USA, and is the first woman from her region to serve on the Boards for all three organizations.

Nancy has more than 22 years of hotel experience with independent, economy and midscale brands. During that time, she has maintained award-winning properties. She also was the recipient of the 2005 AAHOA Industry award for “Outstanding Woman Hotelier of the Year.”

Nancy and her husband of 20 years, Bharat Patel, have two children; a 5-year-old daughter, Nishita, and a 15-year-old son, Anam. Nancy and her family have lived in Georgia for 20 years.

Nancy is a lifetime member of AAHOA.  During her first year on the AAHOA Board in 2008, she served diligently on many different committees such as the Women’s Committee, the Leadership & Education Committee, the PR & Communications Committee and the Franchise Committee.
