
As President of AAHOA, Fred Schwartz helps direct the
association, whose more than 11,000 members own more than
20,000 hotels in the United States, with a hotel valuation exceeding
$128 billion. He joined AAHOA in 1996 and became President four years
later.
Prior to joining AAHOA, Fred managed the hotel program for the 1996 Olympic Games held in Atlanta, Ga. During his tenure with the International Olympic Committee, he negotiated several key contracts including the Olympic host hotel contract. He also more than doubled the Atlanta host hotel network from 200 to 440 hotels.
A veteran in the hospitality industry for more than 30 years, Fred has held senior management positions with Hyatt Hotels, Warwick International and Crowne Plaza. He currently serves on the steering committee of the National Franchise Mediation Program and the advisory board of the Preston Robert Tisch Center for Hospitality.
Under his leadership, AAHOA has increased its membership from 3,000 in 1996 to more than 11,000 in 2013.
Fred grew up in Jamaica, Queens, and is a graduate of Queens College, New York.
