AAHOA Governance

Several months ago, the AAHOA Board of Directors committed to reviewing and updating the AAHOA Governance process. In the effort to get the best long-term results, the Board approved an AAHOA Governance Committee (AGC) for this process. The AGC was charged with recommending a comprehensive Governance Model to the Board. The AGC members included all AAHOA past chairmen, the AAHOA officers, five (5) AAHOA chairman Board appointees, and three (3) hospitality industry professionals.

Following extensive research and deliberations, the AGC submitted its recommendations to the AAHOA Board for review and further deliberations. The Board has reviewed and reached consensus on the proposed Governance Model and is proud to submit the Model for your comments before taking formal action.

We have posted an Executive Summary and the full version of the proposed AAHOA Governance Model on our Web site at www.aahoa.com. Please review the Executive Summary, the full model, or both, and submit any comments in writing, either electronically or in hard copy, to AAHOA President Fred Schwartz at Fred@aahoa.com or fax to 404-816-2724. The comment period is twenty-one (21) days from the date of this letter.

AAHOA has grown dramatically in size, reach, and industry presence since its inception just a decade or so ago. The new Governance Model is designed to address our continued growth and to ensure that we manage our future affairs in a fashion best suited for an even more powerful and fiscally sound AAHOA.

We value your input and want to assure you that this historical process is being conducted in a transparent, deliberative, and fully inclusive way. Collectively, we can and must continue to make AAHOA the best hotel industry organization in the world.

Sincerely,

M.P. Rama
Chairman, AAHOA
