AAHOA Programs
Founded in 1989 with little more than 100 members, AAHOA has
experienced exponential growth over the years. Today AAHOA has more than
8,000 members who together own over 22,000 hotels. That totals up to
more than one million rooms representing more than 37 percent of all
hotel properties in the United States including 50 percent of the
economy lodging properties!
The market value of hotels owned by AAHOA members totals in around
$50 billion. They pay nearly $700 million in real estate taxes annually
and create more than one million jobs.
As a non-profit association, AAHOA focuses on leadership, education
and advocacy in its community and industry. AAHOA's membership is made
up of individual entrepreneurs who each have a myriad of personal
success stories; theirs is a unique energy, mission and power.
Since its inception, AAHOA has been an active force in its industry
and community. Each year AAHOA sets an ambitious schedule of educational
conferences and trade shows. As an active advocate on behalf of its
members, AAHOA also serves as a collective voice within the hospitality
industry, the media and the legislature.
AAHOA'S On-going Initiatives:
AAHOA Lodging Business is a window into the association and
the hospitality industry at large. Mailed monthly, this magazine not
only helps members and vendors keep in touch with the
association, but also provides the general hospitality industry
with a relevant source of industry news and trends.
Hands-on educational opportunities are offered to the members year
round - at no charge! Topics include but are not limited to: hot legal
issues facing the hospitality industry; increasing revenue through sales
and marketing; leadership skills; finance, including SBA concerns; and
legislative affairs.
Regional conferences and trade shows are offered throughout the year
at no cost to AAHOA members. These shows feature
industry speakers, timely workshops, networking opportunities, and
supplier exhibits.
An ambitious scholarship is awarded annually to a qualified student
pursuing a college degree in hospitality to help defray the costs of
higher education.
The AAHOA Web site (www.AAHOA.com)
continues to grow as a source for industry news and helpful information
and tools. Anyone can log on and see the latest AAHOA news and
get information about issues affecting the hospitality industry
and vendor community.
AAHOA offers its members 30 minutes of complimentary legal consultation
up to three times each year. This can both help members solve simple
issues quickly and without unnecessary expense and identify those
matters that require more intensive legal attention.
AAHOA addresses specific problems with specific answers - integrating
into the American business world while staying in touch with its Indian
heritage. From disaster relief efforts to individual member
concerns...from building strategic alliances to building a better
community...from creating a collective voice on Capitol Hill to
empowering individuals through legislative advocacy...join AAHOA and
build the bridges necessary to make a lasting difference.
