Hitesh Patel is an Austin, Texas-based hotelier and community leader with a strong entrepreneurial background. Born in England, Hitesh and his family immigrated to the United States when he was 8 years old and put down roots in Elgin, Texas. Two years later, he was working the front desk, in housekeeping, and in maintenance at his parents’ 18-room hotel.
Hitesh is a 1996 graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, where he earned a BBA. In 1998, he launched his hospitality career with the construction of a Microtel Inn in Stafford, Texas. In the years that followed, Hitesh added branded properties like Best Western, Choice, IHG, and Wyndham to his portfolio.
Today, Hitesh is the president of Capital City Hospitality Group and the creator of Global Green Consultants, which offers “green” consulting services primarily to hotels. He holds several leadership positions within the hotel industry, including a place on both the Austin Hotel & Lodging Association and the Leuva Patidar Samaj (LPS) boards of directors. He is appointed to the Austin Economic Growth and Redevelopment Task Force, has an IHG Owners Association Ambassadorship and also serves on the 2019 HFTP Hospitality Technology Strategic Initiatives Council.
A member of AAHOA, the voice of America’s hotel owners, since 2004, Hitesh began his service on the AAHOA Board of Directors in 2010, when he was elected Director at Large. He subsequently won the AAHOA Award of Excellence for his work in supporting the association's educational initiatives.
Hitesh resides in Austin with his wife, Trusha, and their two children, Kylissa and Khaleal.
