Jagruti Panwala serves as Treasurer of AAHOA, the voice of America’s hotel owners, and is the first female officer in the association’s 28-year history.
Prior to becoming an elected AAHOA officer, Panwala served as a Female Director at large; a position she held for six years.
Jagruti helps lead AAHOA’s advocacy efforts aimed at protecting the interests of hotel owners. Her advocacy work on behalf of AAHOA includes testifying before a Congressional Committee about the harmful impact of over-regulation on small businesses. She serves on the AHLA Board of Directors and also on the Department of Energy Better Buildings Summit Steering Committee.
Born in Surat, India, Jagruti immigrated to the U.S. in 1991. She earned undergraduate degrees in both finance and economics from East Stroudsburg University.
In 1999, Jagruti founded Wealth Protection Strategies Inc. where she currently serves as President & CEO. Wealth Protection Strategies is an investment management company specializing in succession planning.
Jagruti is a second generation hotelier. She and her husband, Ahmed, own and operate multiple hotels throughout the Northeastern United States. The couple have two children and reside in suburban Philadelphia.
