OSHA and Federal Contractor Vaccine Mandates
A significant decision was made on Friday, Dec. 17, 2021, regarding the enforcement of various federal COVID-19 vaccine mandates.
A ruling that originally blocked a Biden administration requirement that companies with 100 or more employees mandate vaccinations or testing for workers was overturned.
A split three-judge panel of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit made the decision to reinstate the requirement that workers for larger companies get the COVID-19 vaccine by early January or submit to weekly testing.
But that didn’t come without opposition. Within a couple of hours, a broad coalition of 26 trade groups and others challenging the mandate, filed the first of several emergency appeal applications to the U.S. Supreme Court requesting a stay pending Supreme Court review.
AAHOA will be following the changes closely and will keep you up to date as more information becomes available.
