April was action packed. Not only did I start my term as AAHOA Chairman, but we hosted a successful convention in Baltimore last month. AAHOACON22 drew nearly 6,000 attendees to the Baltimore Convention Center for the ‘Super Bowl’ of hospitality events. Thank you to the entire AAHOA team, our Members, sponsors, exhibitors, and industry partners who made AAHOACON22 an outstanding event. Event photos are now live at AAHOAEvents.com.
As I step into my new leadership role, I want to also thank Vinay for his tireless efforts and leadership during his time as AAHOA Chairman. I look forward to Vinay’s continued contributions to our association as he transitions to Past Chair.
Also, congratulations to the new Board members elected in Baltimore. I am confident that this new leadership will take AAHOA to the next level.
The Fun Continues After AAHOACON22!
This week, I'll be in Las Vegas attending the Choice Annual Convention and hosting an AAHOA-Choice Brand Alliance Meeting on Thursday. In addition, we have several events coming up in May, including two Regional Conferences, three town halls, and a charity golf tournament. These events are great opportunities to catch up on industry news, connect with local hoteliers and vendors, and make a difference in the community. Check out our Calendar of Events and make plans to join us.
Franchise Relations and the 12 Points
As Chairman, I will continue to help keep AAHOA’s franchise relations efforts and communication a top priority for the association. Regardless of whether you are a Franchisee or not, I encourage you to check out the updated 12 Points at AAHOA.com/12Points. Together, we can be a strong and knowledgeable voice and preserve this path to entrepreneurship for future generations.
Happy AAPI Heritage Month
May is also designated Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander Heritage Month by presidential proclamation. As an organization that has long represented the interests of Asian Americans in hospitality, today and every day, AAHOA is proud to celebrate the contributions of our nearly 20,000 members who own 60% of the hotels in the nation and contribute $368.4 billion to the nation's annual GDP.
We’re gearing up for an exciting and productive next couple of months. I’m proud to continue the momentum alongside Team AAHOA.
