Advocacy Days

State Capitol Hill Advocacy Days

AAHOA's Government Affairs team facilitates state capitol advocacy days across the country where AAHOA members convene at their state capitals to meet with their representatives and senators to discuss crucial issues facing American hoteliers. In most states, AAHOA coordinates these visits with the state lodging association.

Similar to the Spring National Advocacy Conference, Fall National Advocacy Conference and Legislative Action Summit, these advocacy events are another opportunity for AAHOA members to engage with elected officials, as well as promote our association to a global audience. Be sure to watch for news on your state's advocacy day.

Small Delegation Meetings

Every month, AAHOA asks a small delegation of four to five members from a specific state or region to come to Washington D.C. for a full day of meetings with their federal elected officials on Capitol Hill.

Instituted in 2013, these advocacy events help AAHOA members develop and maintain relationships with elected officials throughout the year and are designed to mirror national fly-ins on a more targeted level.

AAHOA places a premium on building long-lasting relationships and inspiring political and civic engagement. Monthly small delegation meetings are your opportunity to continue the great work you do at our Spring and Fall National Advocacy Conferences, our Legislative Action Summit, and/or your state Capitol Hill Day.
