Since its inception, AAHOA has fought for equitable policies to open the door for hotel owners from diverse backgrounds, including women and Asian Americans. That’s why industry veteran David Kong’s work championing diversity, inclusion, and equity is vital to AAHOA’s overall mission. Kong launched DEI Advisors, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping women and other minority groups to achieve their career aspirations.
It is also worth noting that former Executive Vice President and COO for AAHOA, Rachel Humphrey, is one of the principals at DEI Advisors – this goes to show that current and former AAHOA Members and staff are in full support of what this company tries to achieve for the Asian American community.
DEI Advisors will interview hospitality leaders, life coaches, and executive recruiters, equipping women and other minorities with valuable insights so they can break the glass ceiling.
“I formed DEI Advisors as a non-profit organization to collect and share insights and learnings from industry leaders,” said Kong, principal and founder of DEI Advisors. “While many companies are doing wonderful work in the areas of DEI, individuals must also be responsible, and feel empowered for their personal growth and career aspirations. Essentially, we’re aiming to prepare future leaders in the industry for the driver seat of their journey, where they get to help create and advocate for their destiny truly.”
Some of the DEI interviews ready for you to watch include conversations with TLTsolutions Founder Tracy Prigmore, President and Founder of the Multi-Cultural Convention Services Network Clara Carter, Castell Project Founder Peggy Berg, and much more!
